Leslie's Grecian Gown for an Oregon Coast Elopement

Romantic, Grecian, effortless are the three words that came to mind describing Leslie’s custom designed gown. We began our design journey with her love story and her setting the scene for dreamy, intimate elopement they’ve planned at the Oregon coast. Just like everything else they planned for their special day, the wedding gown she envisioned is elegant and meaningful.

Leslie had a clear idea of what she wanted to feel and look like walking down to the beach to say her vows. She envisioned a sophisticated silhouette, delicate silk chiffon fabric, with modern lace, and a very meaningful detail. She chose a soft drapey silk chiffon and a beautiful floral embroidered lace with a matte finish to pair with. The contrasting texture and material really gave this dress a sense of charm. Together we designed and created a V-shaped neck, A-line gown with side laced cutout and a trailing chapel length train. It has a bodice with pleated silk chiffon draped from the shoulders crisscrossing each side over center of her waist. A side cutout at each side of the waist with illusion mesh and her hand-picked embroidered lace to give this design a modern vibe. She also chose a lightly pleated silk chiffon skirt to match the top. What made her gown so magic and uniquely hers is that she asked if she can incorporated a part of her mother’s wedding gown on to hers. This was a beautiful way of honoring her mother. We trimmed part of the lace rom her mother’s gown and hand attached it to hers along the lace cutout. This was an unexpected beautiful surprise to add to her design and we loved the sweet message behind it. To complete her beautiful look, we made a stunning silk chiffon chapel length cape and draped 3 pearl chains across her back. When wearing them she looks like a Grecian Goddess.

Her dress is all in the details, just like everything else planned for their elopement. Full of sweet details, each with so much thoughtfulness behind it. One they took a very special trip to create their own unique wedding bands. Even though their family could not be there in person, they found an adventure photographer duo who helped them plan, capture, and document their magical event together, allowing them to share those authentic love moments with everyone they wished could attend.

We adored the couple’s decision to opt out of a big ceremony for now, and instead have a three days elopement trip with their photographers and two friends as witness/officiate to celebrate their day. It was a lovely option, and we want highlight their brave choice and to let other to-be-married couples know elopement is a beautiful choice. It is your vision, your day!
